WE BELIEVE THE BIBLE

  1.

We believe all 66 books are inspired by God (2 Peter 1:21) and are useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that all Christian should do their best to present themselves as one approved, a worker that does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

WE BELIEVE IN THE GOD OF THE BIBLE

2.

God is sovereign. We believe He created everything, the universe, and all living things (Genesis 1 & 2) and planned the way for sinful man to be redeemed by the final sacrifice of His son on the cross (Galatians 3:24). All of this for His glory (Philippians 2:5-11)

WE BELIEVE IN JESUS, GOD’S SON, AS DESCRIBED IN THE BIBLE

3.

We believe God’s Son was present at the creation of the earth (John 1:1-3, 14), that He came to earth, born of the Virgin Mary (Luke 2:26-33), to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10). He taught as one who had authority (Matthew 7:28-29, John 5:19-30) that we might have life to the fullest (John 10:10). He was betrayed, denied, and crucified for our sins, the ultimate price to save us from an eternity in hell (1 Corinthians 15:1-3), but He was raised from the dead by God on the third day and appeared to many (1 Corinthians 15:4-8). Then He ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9) to sit at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19).

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT OF THE BIBLE

4.

We believe the Spirit of God was present at creation (Genesis 1:2) and was promised to Jesus’ disciples when Jesus went back to the Father (John 16:7-11). Believers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit when they are baptized (Acts 2:38). He dwells in the heart of every believer and helps us in our prayers (Roman 8:26-27).

WE BELIEVE IN GOD’S PLAN OF SALVATION IN THE BIBLE

5.

When a person hears the gospel of Christ (Romans 10:17), who is the only way to salvation (John 14:6), and his death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:4,5), and wants to commit his or her life to him through faith, the Bible teaches they must repent of their selfish ways and put God first as absolute sovereign. They must confess His name as the Son of God publicly (Romans 10:9,10), be baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit receiving forgiveness of sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 2:38), and live a life of bearing the fruit of the Spirit by abiding in Jesus (John 15:1-17, Galatians 5:13-26), walking in the light, confessing and repenting of sin, and living like Jesus (1 John 1:5-10, 2:6).

WE BELIEVE IN THE CHURCH IN THE BIBLE

6.

Jesus said he was going to build his church (those called out of the world into the Kingdom) on the truth of his being the son of the living God. This church, which has many local congregations around the world, is essentially one. We, of the Restoration Movement, believe the only way to restore the unity of the church, for which Jesus prayed (John 17:20-23), is to return to the New Testament church, its practices, and fruits.
